A bursary of R100 000 for a Master’s in Mathematics Education/ Engineering Education is being offered for study at UCT in 2020.
Scope of the research
The Master’s student will be based in a research collaboration between the Aspect unit in ADP with the Mathematics Department/ or Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment. The research will be in Mathematics education, with an interest area in engineering mathematics.
Conditions of the award: we are looking for a candidate who
Has completed a BSc (Hons) in a relevant domain within the last 5 years. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in mathematics/mathematics education/ or engineering education.
Is focussed, hardworking, flexible and can work independently.
The candidate will be required to:
Collect necessary data for the study.
Write up research for publication and present at local and international meetings.
To comply with the University’s approved policies, procedures and practices for the postgraduate sector.
Tenure and value:
The value of the bursary will be R100 000 per annum and carries no fringe benefits.
The project will run for 2 years and is available immediately.
An additional R50 000 is available for other expenses.
