The Sasol-Inzalo Foundation is a public benefit organization that seeks to pioneer the sustainable reform of South African STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education systems. A major strength of the organization is that it operates with numerous collaborators at various levels of the education value chain, and thus obtains a broad perspective of STEM education in South Africa. CREE is one of these collaborators. The foundation's programs and interventions are all research based, and an important arm of it is the 20 Doctoral and Masters students conducting STEM education research at various universities around the country.
Eight of these twenty students are members of CREE, enrolled for various Masters and PhD programmes within Education Research.
Each year the Foundation holds a "Fellows Seminar" where the scholars are afforded the opportunity to showcase the various stages of their research, and receive valuable feedback from fellow participants and supervisors.
